TimeLapse is a style of motion picture production that takes processes lasting hours or days, and reduces them to a few minutes of playback.

TimeLapse SD
1 Frame every 15 secs:  9 hours = 1 minute (NTSC)
TimeLapse Recording.  1 frame every 2 seconds
Interval Recording. 15 frames every minute.
Some home style video camcorders have a version of this built in (called “Interval Recording”), allowing nearly anyone the ability to create a pseudo TimeLapse.
However, this is not a “true” TimeLapse because it takes several images at a time, instead of just one.  This results in a “choppy” look to the finished product.  I use a system that takes only 1 image at each pre-determined interval, resulting in a smooth product.
